Ulaula is a given is a given for the Big Island, but the other two can be either green and blue to complete the rainbow theme, or pink and purple to match the other two names, which are named after their real life counterparts' official colors.

Just made me dislike it. It doesnt feel like a natural pokedex, but one made huge so that people can marvel at how huge it is. Johto's 256 and Unova's 300 are the right sizes of a "big" pokedex for me. It's a lot but not too much.

Not that guy, but I don't think the problem was so much the size of the Pokédex alone as it was the fact that it was combined with a very low number of new Pokémon.

Whether or not that was a good thing is beside the point here, but the new mons definitely would have benefited from a smaller Pokédex. This way, it didn't feel very balanced, and in some areas, the new guys didn't really stand out as much as they could have, which was especially jarring considering there aren't that many. At least that's my take on it.

The new mons were distrusted very well... there were technically fewer of them but if you really wanted to use only new Pokemon, you could easily do so. There's TECHNICALLY less selection than, say, BW or something obviously but what matters is the ease and variety of ones you're able to get. On top of that, late game Pokemon were more viable because of how easy it was to grind for experience due to, among other things, the Exp Share so. I had atl east two playthrough using Kalos Pokemon you could only catch late (Avalugg and Noivern off the top of my head) without feeling like I was gimped at all.

Hopefully August's corocoro issue shows the name of the next island, considering we already saw Tapu Koko it can be a good idea to advance to the next one. It will confirm if they're going with the red, green, blue and yellow naming convention or if they'll stick with the official colors of Hawaii's islands.
