We don't know what it's stats are yet, or even if it has an evo or not. The last few didn't, so it probably doesn't, but it's possible for pokemon with a x4 weakness to live a hit like that. Especially spread moves at level 50 in VGC, which is where I think this thing will see some use, especially if it's got a high speed stat. That would mean fake out and follow me on one rodent.

All the Pikaclones are Electric-Type, and yellow in coloration. That's kinda' the point.

Marill just happened to be a mouse. I guess the "Pikablu" name rumor didn't help.

The Pikaclone of Gen 2 was Pichu, as they tried to expand on Pikachu and give it a complete line. Remember Gen 2 was originally the final games in the franchise.

When they realized they would be making more Pokémon games, they started making PROPER Pikaclones. The Pikachu of a Region. Note, these do not evolve, because Game Freak pretty much hate Pichu and Raichu. (ESPECIALLY Raichu)

Pichu gets a bit of love, but Raichu is despised because it means Pikachu isn't fully evolved, and thus has to stay nerfed. This is why they keep giving so much shit to help Pikachu be usable.

If they could get away with buffing Pikachu to the point where it loses stats upon evolving, they probably would.

Dedenne, Pachirisu, Togedemaru, Plusle and Minum can all go die in a fire, though

Pachirisu and Dedenne have had uses in VGC, they were actually really popular.
Togedemaru is a Steel Type, which is fantastic even if worse than it used to be, has Iron Barbs AND Lightning Rod as abilities, which are both fantastic in singles and VGC respectively. Absolutely needs someone to protect it from Earthquake with Wide Guard though. Even Magnet Rise maybe.
If Togedemaru follows the Pikaclone tendence of having Speed as its highest stat, it could end up ending pretty interesting as it would not have to rely on Protect or Wide Guard to avoid Earthquakes with Magnet Rise and could also make good use of Substitute, of course having a high Speed is always a good thing, but it looks like a very defensive Pokémon to me, which of course won't necessarily be bad, if it was frail Iron Barbs would not be that useful.
Regardless it would be nice to have a pretty good and strong Pikaclone.
