Before it was released I thought Tapu Koko was just a title, not the actual name but oh well.

The Japanese nasal N in Emonga sounds relatively close to the English dark L sound in Emolga. At the very least, it sounds more like a dark L than the forward N sound that would exist if it were called Emonga in English, too.

Tapu is one name, the second part is the sound chicken makes, which is koko in English. Its consistent with Japanese name, French name and Chinese name, where they all used correspomding chicken sound in the second part of the name.

I don't mind Tapu Koko at all. It sounds like the name of a deity, which is exactly what Tapu Koko is viewed as.

I don't mind Togedemaru too much either. The problem isn't so much the name itself but how poorly it rolls off of the tongue. Pikachu, Pachirisu, and Emolga all sound equally out of place but they all flow relatively well.

Meanwhile the Toe-geh-deh portion of Togedemaru is extremely awkward to say. It's extremely choppy and there's really no way around it.

To everybody saying Tapu Koko is the first one having a name with 2 words. Porygon 2 was the first one with a number in its name. Ho-oh was the first one with a hyphen.
It's nothing new, GF adds new types of names all the time. So why get worked up about this?

However I understand why Togedemaru might sound weird. It just feels strange to say, it's way to long and it sounds way more japanese than any other pikaclone imo.
