I don't see the problem when only one type in overlapping.
Like a Grass/Flying+Normal/Flying covers as many types as Grass+Normal/Flying.
By that logic any single typed pokémon is redundant since it doesn't add two unique ones to the team.
I really don't get this OCD deal.

Train more than 6 and rotate your fucking team. That way you can use them one at a time on different teams during the same playthrough. Also that way when the exp.share is the same as it is in gen 6 you'll be using it right and won't be overleveled so you'll have no reason to bitch about the new exp.share.
