Pokémon is a casual franchise and I have no qualms with that. Im not going to get all bent out of shape for them aiming the franchise toward kids. Hell I was 12 when red/blue came out and I realized then it was casual, I still liked it.
That being said, I know I'm not the only person who's been "catching them all" since day one. It would be nice if Nintendo recognized the older fans and made a harder or more intense mode or game for us. Granted, they don't need to because they know we'll buy it. I don't feel like they owe us anything either, would just be nice for a little recognition for devoting 20 years and thousands on their franchise.

Possible, but I doubt it. I think Pichu was an intentional choice, because Pikachu is the franchise mascot. Pichu is also conveniently SE against 2/3 of the Starters, due to Rowlett's Flying Type. If it rotated with other Pokémon, then Pichu is a weird as fuck choice for this reason.

It would absolutely 100% be wasting the model, that they created, and it's full potential by NOT putting it in a battle when 'almost' every single model in the SM is pretty much confirmed to be in a battle setting with them being behind their Pokemon. To further back this up, she has a fucking Pokemon in her bag. So yes, it would be wasting her model if she isn't used in a battle environment, especially after so much focus and attention is being put on her, plus the aforementioned mon in her trainer bag.
