aside from the shitty fingers, you can peel the cable and charge the 3ds by making contact with the cupper contacts. However you only got one chance because if the poles are reversed you may damaged your 3ds.

if you get the contacts/wires flipped the wrong direction, all that happens is that it instantly drains all the charge in the 3DS. then once you put the wires in the correct direction, it will take a bit to charge since it's fully dead.
