Hey /vp/,
Today I decided to boot up my Yellow file and saw the battery finally gave in, last year it still worked fine. This got me to get off my lazy ass and decided to finally move my Gen III Pokemon over which leads me to two quick questions.
1- I got a message that the battery was dead but the save file is still there so is Gen III fr/lg/r/s/e all saved in flash memory, no reason to worry about it then?
2- The process is tedious as fuck, Are there even any Pokemon worth trading over because they're easier to find here or have better move sets or something? Someone told me you can catch everything between XY and ORAS.

Internal battery for gen III carts affects only the in game clock not saves.
Moving mons up through gens is either for old move tutors/events etc like an Espeed Linoone or for sentimental reasons.
