First that I played at all was Snap, played in a game room at my church. Loved the Pokemon, and wanted some of my own.
First game I owned was a used copy of Crystal.

Favorite is White. First game since the first that felt like a blind adventure full of new and exciting monsters.
The story was over the top, but every battle was good, and I loved the feel of the region, linearity aside. Despite its flaws, it just gives me good feelings, if that makes sense.

We weren't very well off, but our neighbors were kind enough to lend us their yellow game boy. They were older then us, mid teens and didnt really care for it any more. By the time we played it silver and gold were out.

We'd get a PC and an emulator some time later from a family friend, Gold was the first pokemon game I ever completed via emulator.
