Gen 4 had the best meta.
Gen 4 had the best remake.
Gen 4 had an okay 3rd version
Gen 4 had the absolute worst pair of main games in the series. Nothing else comes close to their sheer levels of awful. Dull, uninspired story, completely broken online, absolutely horrid Mon distribution, and barely any graphical improvements over gen 3 (even though it was a new console).

And I don't even need to say the worst problem, because it's so fucking glaring and ridiculous that everyone knows what it is.

I like them all, while none are my favourite starter, they are my favourite starter trio. World turtle, Sun Wukong and Napoleon are great Pokémon to have.
Great types outside of another Fire/Fighting, though I don't think anything else would suit what it's based off of.

For me, Platinum is the best Pokemon game so far. I can understand if it isn't your favourite -- but if you don't consider Platinum in the top 3 of all Pokemon games, you're completely delusional.

Right? It's probably the overall best designed trio so far. Even Infernape, who's my least favourite of the bunch, is still a great design. Every other gen has at least one that looks just plain ugly, or has a really uninspired design.

Mind you, GenVII's looking promising as far as starters go, even if I worry Popplio's final stage is going to drop the ball.
