Just got this handsome man after failing a shiny Totodile. On this game I'll likely hunt a Game Corner Ekans next, but on my X version I'm still hunting friend safari Duosion.

Doing a Soul Silver Nuzlocke, ran into a shiny Geodude. Was pleasantly surprised.

then my Paras's Scratch critted and killed it. I had underestimated my little bug.

Working on getting the shiny charm right now in X and Y. I've bred 10 shinies already without it, but my most recent hunt has taken so much breeding (2 months) that I've officially decided that I need the thing.

How many eggs? I have the worst damn luck with MMing. Never had a hunt under 1200 eggs or so, even with the Shiny Charm (except for a Turtwig on the first egg when I was making my living dex, but... ehhh). I can't bear the thought of going for something that won't have its nature or ability guaranteed.

In 20 years of playing Pokemon, I caught my first wild shiny ever yesterday.

It was a Luvdisc.

Hopefully I'll catch something better in the next 20 years

I'm going for a dratini. I can't decide if I want to keep it as a Dragonair or not though. Because Dragonair looks great pink, though I think it might be cool if I could get 5 mons to represent the chromatic Dragons of D&D.

I was thinking:
Red Dragon - Charizard
Blue Dragon - Garchomp
Green Dragon - Shiny Dragonite
Black Dragon - Shiny Haxorus
White Dragon - I'm kind of undecided, Reshiram is probably the best, but I don't want to use Legends, so I was thinking of using either Shiny or regular Altaria.

I'm open to suggestions on what would better fit the theme, thoughts?

I want a shiny vespiquen because I have nothing better to do than look for something I have a 3/20480 chance of getting. That's only the goal though, I'd be just as happy with a shiny male combee to replace my illumise (illumise are ugly as fuck) on my shiny hunting team.

for anyone wondering about the shiny hunting team I currently have:
-Xerneas because he has 40 moves (for pokeradar) plus 15 extra (he is not nessacary, he's just there)
-talonflame for flame body and fly
-absol for cut and false swipe
-gothitelle for arena trap
-shiny octillery for suction cup
-illumise for sweet scent

Give me a Pokemon to dexnav. No hard locations like caves please

I was trying between breeding a few shint pokemon but now I'm soft resetting for Virizion. I've never legimiately come across a shiny pokemon before. I've hatched two but that's it.

My fucking friend was replaying white and came across TWO shinies in the past day without any effort. He wasn't even LOOKING for them he was just playing through the story. He's also hatched several more than me. What the fuck do I do, why do I bother

To put it simply, whatever pokemon you put in holding an everstone, the kid is guaranteed to have the same Nature as that parent. So if you wanted to breed more Jolly Wynauts, all you need to do is put that shiny in holding and Everstone and you'll ONLY get Jolly kids.

Also you know about Destiny Knot and IVs, right?

It is actually useable too, which is a bonus.
My sync failed (as always happens with my shiny legends), but anyhow:

I do know about it. There are 6 natures in 25 overall that I'd be content with, giving me a 24% chance of getting a Wynaut without a shit nature. This is better than the chance of passing the 3 IVs I need without the Destiny Knot. And I can't use both because someone at Gamefreak is a huge cocksucker and decided Wobbuffet shouldn't learn encore without first learning it as a Wynaut, so one parent needs to hold a Lax Incense.

Actually now that I think about it, the chance of passing down those 3 IVs might be 25%, though I'm not sure how much rolling for 31 on the ones not passed while using the knot might add. I'm extremely sleepy and shouldn't be trying to do math.

I have talonflame at front of part to make eggs hatch faster. I'll do math and see which one is faster for getting shiny combee. Also I only need to catch a female skitty and breed it with ditto for a male, much less frustrating than random encounters where it's not gonna be a skitty for half the time. But I didn't know that before, thank you for telling me about cute charm. It works for hatching eggs? I'm breeding it right now because there's not many good grass patches for chaining for it in X. Also that's really specific, is it a glitch or an actual mechanic?
