Model is terrible, that's it.

Bad ability.
Terrible movepool especially when you consider its theme of being a wizard.
Ugly model.

The design sucks compared to Braixen, where Braixen was the perfect combination of "fox" and "wizard", Delphox just looks like a robed wizard with a fox head slapped on.
Performance wise, it has a shallow movepool and subpar stats.

I just hate how it looks in-game.

It looks cool in some artwork, but a lot of the time it just looks awkward.
I didn't like Fennekin either, its head was way too big for its tiny little body.
Braixen had a great design though.

Personally I think gen V starters are the worst and most egregious. Especially when gen IV starters were so good.

Yeah, another shitty thing about Delphox is that it definitely should be able to cast the spells through her hands and not needing a stick for it.

I REALLY want to like this Pokemon trust me. but I just can't. I liked Fennekin and I liked the direction Braixen took the line, I love mages in rpg. I was really excited for a mage fox, but god damn, that furry traffic cone with shitty markings and colors is GARBAGE. I will never like it no matter how much I try. Peace.

Braixen is the worst stage and the worst single stage of any starter period

The model is perfectly fine when the camera in zoomed into it when idle on the battle menu or in Amie, it's just that the low-ass resolution on the 3DS makes it look like a pixelated mess otherwise.

Unless you're just mad the mouth isn't a pasted on texture or that the animations aren't livelier, but the latter isn't the model.

Samurott is alright. Quilladin is also shit, as is Frogaider, all the Kalos middle stages are horrible horrible mistakes, but neither are as bad as Braixen.

I have no problem with furshit, I just hate pretty much everything about Braixen's design except the matchstick wand gimmick which is neat but even that seems like extra unneeded bullshit that doesn't work with the thematic at all, might as well have it blow some fire on it. At least Delphox the stick suddenly catching fire can be explained with pyrokinesis what with being Fire/Psychic.

I personally didn't like Delphox because I didn't clue into the RPG theme until way later somehow, and the direction the line took after Fennekin caught me way off guard. The general concept I can admit is fairly cool, but what I imagined Fennekin becoming was just so different from what it actually became. I don't normally jump on the quadrupedal to bipedal bandwagon, but Fennekin could've had some cool evolutions if it had stayed on four legs. There's some pretty good fan art out there that I've seen since.

I don't know if that's why everyone hates Delphox, but that's why I did. I've come to terms with it now, though it still isn't my favorite by any means.

RU pretty much just means the lower end of UU anyway, the biggest problem Delphox has is against priority moves but other than that it has a good moveset and is a nice cannon
