I'm not sure exactly when they were revealed, but the total number of mons revealed was (not including evos) about 32 for XY out of 70.

Right now, we're at about 11 for SM, again unrevealed evos not included. My point is that even if they reveal 20 more pokemon (let's say 4 per month) we could still be getting not much more than 70 new pokemon if its anything like XY.

All in all, I thought the XY mons were mostly well done, so I'd prefer another situation like that to something like... well, let's not start a gen war. But that's besides the point.
