ITT: Moves that you think are useless, but maybe someone can explain how they could be useful.
What is the point of Flatter if a confused Pokémon won't hit itself with its Sp. Atk? Why not just use a confusion move and not have the drawback of a sharply raised stat?

Use it in doubles on a teammate with own tempo?

Hmm Trick Room sweeper Slowbro or Slowking when paired with Sableye?
>>26745250
Flatter is useful against Phys attackers senpai. Bc if you get RNG'd and they snap out of confusion, they wont hit like a truck

But if the purpose is just to confuse, then you could use Confuse Ray or Supersonic.

So like, its an alternative to Swagger if youre scared to get raped by rng
>>26745511
Well yeah sure. But the few pokemon that dont get confuse ray or supersonic USUALLY get flatter or swagger

It's for strategic reasons, you can use it in doubles on a teammate with own-tempo, it's also better with that accuracy, than supeesonic etc.
Also sometimes it's nice to not overpower your opponent if you can't wall it's boosted attack stat.
>no i never use flatter because i don't play the shut-down style ever.
Is foresight or odor sleuth competitively viable?
The real question is: SYNCHRO NOISE.
