Magearna isn't opposed to other Pokémons' pain and suffering. She craves it. Here's an excerpt from the website describing Magearna:

However, her ability, Soul Heart, is the opposite: she gets stronger as Pokémon faint. And not just the opponents Pokémon, but her allies as well. If used competitively, one would want to faint as many Pokémon as quickly as possible, to boost her special attack in the process. Simply put, feelings, pain, and suffering from fellow Pokémon fainting gets Magearna pumped.

The're both Pokemon formed from a collection of souls, and they were both created at around the same time. The Soul Heart and the Odd Keystone are both vessels which contain them. It can't be a coincidence.

Yes it can. Also, Magearna is formed by life energy not souls (yes, there's a distinction, the latter implies sentience, which is the case with Spiritomb, the former doesn't) and the keystone is NOT a vessel, it was created to bind Spiritomb and restrict its power.

Technically, the terminology is "spirits," not "souls" for the case of Spiritomb. Also, both "spirits" and "life energy" is used interchangeably for NPCs describing fellow soul-sucker Yveltal, so there really is no difference between the two.
So yeah, they're both Polemon created from mass sacrifice, and at around the same time.

Magearn's cry is disappointing. It is too common. Couldve followed the movie version at least there is some machine gear sounds in it.
