This will be my only real issue if Ash wins/finishes runner-up with just his Kalos Pokemon. Part of the reason he got so far in Sinnoh was because he used a good mix which ultimately caught his rivals of guard.

If he wins with just his Kalosmons it basically renders all his previous Pokemon useless and what's the excuse if he doesn't recall his Kalos team to stomp the Alola league (assuming they continue with Ash).

So basically in the Kalos league there will only be two good animated episodes (one Ohashi/Nishiyama and one Iwane).
Ash will only get two major battles (Shota/Alan). Both those battles will consist of shoving Greninja down our throat once again (as if we haven't had enough of that thing already) while the rest of the Pokemon partaking in the battle simply become meaningless fodder.

Furthermore, Noivern will be crowned Ash's most useless Pokemon as it will not get a single trainer battle where it's the main focus and pulls off some significant wins, despite getting 0 gym battles. All thanks to Greninja taking the glory for itself in every single battle since Noibat/Noivern joined the team. D/P solved this beautifully by giving Gible, who also had 0 gym battles, the Conway battle, but something like that doesn't seem to happen in the Kalos league for Noivern.
