Customization wasn't in ORAS because it was a remake of RSE that was in development during the XY cycle by a separate team. That's it. It's an incredibly fucking stupid reason, but that's it.

Same reason FRLG were missing features in RSE, same reason HSGG were missing features in DPPt.

We'll probably see customization in all future games, but yeah. Damn shame.

This just strikes me as proof that no matter how robust the list of features, a bad game is still a bad game. I've played a decent amount of Yokai and I honestly just cannot bring myself to enjoy it, I find the battle system dumb, the characters aren't particularly appealing and I literally don't want any of the Yokai because their designs are just that shitty. No amount of customization or multiple regions or gud grafix will make a fundamentally bad game good.

GF probably tested a few palettes for the MC and we see them both here. Until we see a literal different piece of clothing don't expect anything else. If they aren't advertising it, it's because it's not there. Remember that GF picks a major feature to leave behind to make regions feel unique, and Kalos is all about fashion.
