I'm buying this game because I want to play a new Nintendo published game this holiday season, and there aren't very many good options.

No point in deluding myself, I'm almost certainly getting them. They'd have to be genuinely bad games for me not to, and whatever complaints we may have about various games in the series, they've never approached that level.

I kind of like the system where you re-battle gym leaders after you reach a certain point and they have different teams. Plus, you can't have every gym leader with a full team right at the beginning. The pokedex would fill up too quickly. You'd have to use pokemon from outside the region. And it'd be too difficult for little kids. They might not ever beat the game.

The deciding factor for me is whether I have the time to do that shit in between going to school and hopefully fucking mad bitches. I didn't even buy Fallout 4 yet. Not sure if I'll get pokemon either.

Generally if there's no heart and soul put into the games, I feel they're not worth my money. I know pokemon's entire franchise is basically a cash grab, but there has been at least some heart put into the games from Gen 5 and backwards. Gen 6 seems to have lost it. That's why I'm going to play it safe with Gen 7 and try before I buy (pirating).

I liked every Pokémon mainline game, so I will buy this.

I play other games too, so I don't feel disappointed when the games are 'too easy'. There are other things to play when I want challenge. But Pokémon gives me a mix of nostalgia and a sense of adventure, which other games cannot do.

My deciding factor will be whether or not I can actually find time to play it, and whether or not my budget is not extraordinarily tight. The games will probably be good regardless.

The only reason I play pokemon is to fill my spare time, I don't care about difficulty or anything. I just want to fill the pokedex and do some random battles with friend using teams with pokemon I like.
Difficulty is just an excuse you use to justify that you STILL play a children game.

Indications that the devs actually tried and didn't rush these games to hell and back. A decent level curve, a fun region with plenty of secret islands to encourage exploration, and a long postgame that isn't complete shit.

He didn't say right from the beginning. There's something called progressions, where you start by fighting against a leader with few pokemon, and by the end the leader has a full team.

We haven't had a leader with 4 pokes since DP, and it's kind of a letdown.

I love pokemon, but that is not limited to the matter of using them in a game. I have to believe that what I am doing is right. I cannot do that when the game contradicts everything that it's trying to say.

To be fair, with monotype gyms it does kind of apply. The more Pokemon, the more dual types you can implement to counter super effective types. So the fact that in X/Y most Gym Leaders and E4 could be taken out with only one Pokemon with one move is just a bit too easy.

If i have Grass type defeating a Rock/Ground, Rock/Ground, Rock gym is way easier than defeating a Rock/Ice, Rock/Dragon gym.
