I think someone on here did the maths from one of the video and predicted about 300 pokemon in the dex or something? That's similar to BW2's so I'm hopeful for a mixed bag.

MeleMele is the island to the far left. MeleMele stands for Yellow in the Hawaiian language.

Honestly I'd prefer mega evolution to act as that bonus mostly. A lot of the times especially in gen 4 a lot of my favorite older Pokemon have been ruined by a shitty new evolution so now that it's only temporary there's less chance of that happening.

However for inherently shit pokes like corsola or something, sure go for it.

I really doubt it's going to happen.

They seem to have got suck in with mega evolution and it's much more "cool", marketable, and easy to balance out than new evos.

That's why. Almost nobody has beef with any of the cross gen evolutions in gen 2, because they look good and only improved the pokemon.

Meanwhile, gen 4's cross gens got unlucky in the fact that... they were designed in gen 4. Most of the pokemon in that gen look busy and ugly. It follows that most of the cross gen evolutions do as well in that gen.

Alola is the "complete" gen 7 dex, which includes all of the pokemon from all of the islands. Melemele is the first of four, specifically.

Don't lump all of the 4th generation crosses into one category. Some of them were more than okay. Gliscor, Weavile, Tangrowth, and Rosetsde were natural progressions of their lines. Togekiss and Electivire, while not perfect, were acceptable. Dusknoir and Rhyperior are the only ones that were complete abominations.

I really like rhyperior, rhydon its still superior, and rhyhorn its the best one from the evo line, but I like him, electabuzz was great, and electivire made it looks shit, never liked tangela so tangrowth it's meh for me, togekiss it's a fucking abomination, dusknoir is meh, dusclops is infinitely better
and hate both magmar and magmortar
