>Pokemon will never have lively animations again
In Stadium/Colosseum Kangaskhan looked like a freak. Why aren't Pokemon as lively anymore? Some pass thought like Infernape, but the vast majority barely even move. Pokemon like Starmie would be flexible and throw two of its sides on the ground like arms when it fainted.
Do you mind? Do you wish it would come back? I just think it made everything look cooler, but you could argue its not to make the battles so long.
Japanese people can't animate.
Oh my word that pouch

Colosseum animations were hype as fuck.

I'm so glad this """"""""meme"""""" died

> """"""""
But unfortunately this one survives.
tfw no more flexing poliwrath idle animation
>>26597007
Just look at this image.
We will never have this back.

I dont want to be the one to animate a full animation set for 800 pokemon, and i really dont want to be the one to try to fit all of that into one 8GB cartridge along side a full 3D game.
>>26600147
It's not as much as you think. The models and animations are compressed. I don't remember what XY/ORAS are cartridge-size, but the uncompressed size of all the inbattle models, animations, and textures is only 2.42 gb.

Good, i don't want Pokemon acting retarded like Rhydon, Magneton denying its own existence and battles lasting two hours.
Seeing>>26600111 is cool, yeah. But after the tenth, eleventh, twelfth time it becomes annoying.
>>26597007
my wishes:
1. Make better poses
2. use amie animations in attacks/idle
3. take out that retarded camera angles
4. All pokemon flying/levitating should be in air
5.All other should not or have animations that suggest they are still influenced by gravity
6. Better scale.
>>26600192
You still have to animate 800 complete sets of animations, and just because its 3D doesnt mean its easier.
>>26600320
hes got a point mate. really the less content you push into your game the easier it is to detail what you got.
although pokemon games are shit anyhow so what do i know
>>26600320
It's still much easier than creating over 700 sprites from scratch + their animations for a new gen.
>>26600553
Most 3D animators still do paper and pencil animations to key their animations, even for in game animations, so it takes a lot of effort.
