So after watching the league preview, I was once again reminded of the fact that Ohashi/Nishiyama are great at animating movements. Too bad their art can only be described as low-effort garbage. No shading, thick outlines or anything of the sort that can be related to high quality art. Some shots even look off-model.

Iwane remains the only animator to have the complete package.

When they battle, it will look like Alan is winning but then they'll get interrupted by Team Flare and battle later again during the Team Flare climax and that's when Ash wins.
The league continues after that but Alan declines and says that Ash already beat him and now Alan has to go on a jounrey to redeem himself from the mistakes he's made as part of Team Flare.

It's just that having two battles so close to each other with a different result wouldn't make much sense, especially considering that regular Ash Greninja has been already established as more than powerful enough to take Megazard X out provided Ash doesn't faint. There is no reason why complete Ash Greninja wouldn't be able to defeat him on their next encounter.
