Speaking of muh starters, I got to thinking which starter got the most attention for each Gen's region for Ash. As such, it was in this order, last I recall: Charizard, Bayleef, Sceptile, Infernape, Pignite, Greninja.

Pretty much the current count is 3 fire, 2 grass, 1 water. So odds are Ash ends up with either Popplio or Rowlet for his starter mon of the region with Alola.

Dawn's development was her overconfidence. She started off thinking she could get through Contests easily because of her mother and then the appeal round losses were a huge wake up call hence her depression arc. Dawn's personality was also a lot more vain and stubborn when DP first started.

I do agree with people that Dawn's personality didn't change as much as May and Serena's from their early eps (or even Misty), but she was written as a female Ash so her just loving to battle and jump into the action was good enough.
