Seriously, they're just different colored Pokemon. I've accidentally bred like 7 shinies when I've been building competitive teams in X and AS and I've given all of them for free in /wfg/. Most of them were pretty decent breeding rejects too, optimal nature with 4 perfect IVs or something like that. I swear I'll never understand why some people spend WEEKS soft resetting or MM'ing for different colored pixels.

Some shinies of my favorite pokemon look really nice or are my favorite color so those are the ones I go out of my way to try and get.

Normally though, the random shinies I come across get traded for legendarys or good breeding pokemon.

I fucking love shinies, but I don't have much attachment to them. I just repeatedly reset all of my Pokemon games because Pokemon for me is about the journey, not the destination. I don't mind losing the shinies when I start a new game. That doesn't mean I can't understand why others love them.
