and to be honest, I prefer the first season of the Ashnime over this as the world-building is stronger (logical, as it has more episodes), but even moreso it setting itself apart from the game. It's very interesting to watch occasionally.

That Ryhorn and Rhydon were Sakaki's strongest and most prized pokemon. He even stated how for standard gym matches he uses a regular set of six pokemon to battle but but used Ryhorn and Rhydon since Red was a special case. The main difference between the ashnime and origins is their message

Red sees his pokemon as friends, as equals who must be treated with respect and love. Origins teaches kids to respect animals.

Ash sees pokemon as tools, he abandons them when he no longer needs them. To Ash pokemon are weapons and nothing more, they are disposable. The main anime teaches kids that humans are the only species that matters
