people already know I play has a girl and how badly I want to fuck her

some people play as a girl because they are, actually, girls.
other people play as girls because they recognize that a character portrayed in a pixelated video game is distinct from the self that they embody in reality.
some people authentically enjoy inserting into characters of another gender in order to explore other aspects of their identity.
different strokes for different folks.

I will play as the cuter of the two, which is sometimes but not always the girl. I'm bisexual so I don't give a shit about the gender.

Unlike many faggots, I don't project myself into Pokemon, or roleplay.

I like to play it as its own standalone, collective story, with its own characters.

Sometimes, a female protagonist will make for a more interesting development, overall.

I replay y with girl because of the more custimizationopzions, but damn even hers are shit. Need way more diversity, no hat option, female could wear winter heads, guy gets better shorts, more sweater, and some special clothes like a smoking, knight armor(hadn't a better example) etc. but the most important thing we need is more options for your mega-bracelet. In oras everybody have really nice options, but we have only the fucking bracelet.

Well Y was the only game I've chose the female in my first run because I realized I was playing Barbie's Dress Up: The Gen. I'm glad I was correct as it became the very first game where it was objectively better to play one gender over the other as the female was given more clothing and hair options.

Now that Barbie's Dress Up is returning, I find it hilarious that people actually still want to play as Ken. They learned nothing from X/Y and are going to be disapointed yet again at the lack of clothing and hair options compared to the female.

The lack of clothing options is an extremely common complaint from people who play as the Male in X/Y.

I identify as attackhelicopter. I normally pick the girl. My friends told me that the girl is "easy" mode and that the AI goes easy on you and you get more money. I really didn't care though and I'm pretty sure they were just trying to be really nice so that they could treat me as a trophy. "hey guise, it's an attackhelicopter playing a video gaem!"

This exactly. When playing a video game, I find it very hard to relate to the character I'm playing as due to the fantastical nature of games. So I usually pick a character as far removed from me so that I can enjoy their story as it develops. Almost like a book.

Plus, girls are cuter.

I've really only played as the female protagonist twice, once in Diamond because I never played as Dawn, and once in X because I knew the female protagonist had more clothing options than the male so I wanted to check out all the options. I wound up getting a really great outfit out of it and I was happy with the results. If customization is fully back in Sun and Moon I do hope that the male has as much options as the female but I'll still probably play as both genders with my respective games in case the female has more options again. There's no deep meaning behind it, I just feel like playing a female character.

If girls can play as guys, there's nothing wrong with guys playing as girls. It's kinda strange that it's considered 'gay' to like something girls like, or to want to play as a girl, when the whole point of being 'not gay' is to like girls in the first place, but apparently not like anything that girls like. There really should be a simple answer to this and I don't get why it's brought up so often.

I literally could care less what gender I play in a video game if the narrative fits. Witcher 3 for example playing as a male because it fit the story made sense. The same could be said about tomb raider. Gender in a game without options is perfectly fine to play without being "weird or gay"

If the game has dual gender options but different dialog/story I will usually play it twice: Mass Effect and Persona 3 for example. That way I get the full story out of it.

For pokemon I have never seen a difference in gender for it because there is no romance and the dialog is mostly the same regardless so pick whatever you are most comfortable with. For these games whichever character has the better character design.

I feel like pokemon has always balanced it's designs pretty evenly so I just default to female because I am one, which I figure most probably do the same.

The only exception was Black 2 because the male protagonist design was so horrible and retarded that I hated every second I had to look at it.

That and Rosa's design is my favorite of the all the females protagonists in the whole series.

9/10 times, the male looks dumb.The 2 acceptable male trainers to me are Red and Gold.

The two exceptions to this were Crystal and X&Y. In Crystal it was for the novelty. In X&Y it was because I realized that trainer customization was going to shaft the male character. I wasn't wrong.


Of course, the most solid counter argument to anyone claiming that "A guy who plays as a girl is gay" is that picking the girl in a game means you get to stare at girl ass for the next 40-70 hours. Picking the male means you get to stare at man ass.
