Ice is a great offensive type. The Ice Pokemon could see more representation in competitive if GameFreak actually played to the type strenghtes instead of insisting that every Ice type must be some slow defensive dex filller shitmon. See Weavile, Mamoswine and Cloyster for Ice types done right.

Grass type has great support options and extremely valuable resistances. It's also one of the two types to hit Water super effectively.

Poison is bad offensively but it's decent as a defensive type (key Fighting resistance) and just like Grass has a wide selection of support moves.

Bug has took a hit with the introduction of Fairy type and Aegislash, but it's also one of the few remaining types with no type or ability immunities, which makes U-turn deadly and opens up posibilities of monoattacking sets.

The only really bad type is Psychic. Like, there isn't a single Psychic Pokemon in existance who wouldn't rather be Fairy instead. Next time GameFreak decides to tamper with the type chart Psychic type should be the first in line for some long deserved buff.

Ice, Bug and Grass are the worst types.

Ice is useless since it is shit defensively and every water type learns Ice Beam. The few Ice types that are actually good are physical ones (Mamoswine and Weavile), but all the physical ice moves have really shit distribution even among Ice types. Also GF keep making defensive and slow Ice types instead of fast sweepers.

Bug has a few standout Pokemon, but that's only because they have a really good secondary typing and/or good stats or abilities (Scizor, Volcarona, Forretress). The majority of Bug Pokemon also end up being early game trash, which doesn't help its case.

Grass has a lot of status moves but that's becoming less important as the metagame becomes more offensive. The only really good Grass Pokemon I can think of is Breloom (who is only good because it is the fastest Spore user).

Electric isn't too bad as a type, it's not seen as a curse if a Pokemon has it as a secondary type (unlike the other three I've mentioned).

The only ones that can switch relatively safely in theory are Ghost types. But even then Knock Off is rather commonly found on many Fighting types and is a bane of Ghost types existence.

Fairy types have subpar defense and the ones that don't tend to be combined with types that also make them neutral to Fighting (Steel, Rock, aka the stereotypical "high defense" types).

Majority of Flying and Bug types cannot switch safely without eating a Stone Edge to the face, and even then majority of them takes like 50% from Close Combat/HJK and Stealth Rock damage alone.

Psychic type is a joke, also suffers from the same issues Ghost does.
