1. I want levels of difficulty. God Damnit, I'm tired of this easy bull shit start, then slowly increase in difficulty. I want at least three levels, Beginning Trainer, Experienced Trainer, and Poke` Master. And maybe a "Hell" mode.. like once your pokemon is ko'd..it has a chance of actually dying.

There already are difficulty levels. Are you blind?
If you want to cruise through the game on EZ mode, leave the EXP share on during all or most of your play time.
If you want a bit of a challenge and maybe have to grind a bit before each gym, turn the EXP share off as soon as you get it. Not exactly hard mode, but more like medium difficulty.
If you actually want the game to be HARD you'll have to self-impose some rules. Nuzlocke is the first to come to mind for most, but it's not the only challenge rule set. Find one that suits your taste and stop shitposting /vp/.

Reasonable Tier:
1.- A region with more Pokemon than Kalos, so we can meet nothing but new mons in the main story and get the rest of the Pokemon in the postgame.
2.- The ability to rename traded Pokemon.
3.- More memorable landmarks and cities. The only thing I remember about Kalos was Lumiose City and the palace.
4.- A better storyline. Gen V spoiled me.

1.- Litten not ending up as Fire/Ground. Ew.

No, this is a terrible idea and you're a terrible person for suggesting it.

The ideal situation should be a good mix like Gen III. 2/3 new Pokémon, 1/3 old as a safety valve for people who end up not finding anything they like. Otherwise people will feel like they're being forced to like the new Pokémon and may grow to hate them out of spite.

Honestly, I'd rather they put the resources it takes in creating two/three sets of Pokemon for almost every trainer and put it into making a more involved Battle Tower / Battle Frontier / Online Tournament experience.

A difficulty mode that you select when you start your game is self-imposed because you selected it. Don't be frustrated because it doesn't go by the name you want it to go by.

What I want is for GameFreak to make HMs not just arbitrary road blocks and actually interesting tools to use for puzzle solving. This would probably require a significant revamping of what moves are actually HMs and how they are used on the overworld.

My crazy never going to happen tier dream is that the game doesn't dictate what you do too much. You can get from town to town fairly easily- high level Pokemon and trainers don't spend much time on busy roads and popular intersections. But most routes / cities will lead to more interesting areas to explore with higher level / rarer Pokemon, tougher trainers, and rare items. You can travel wherever you want with impunity, so long as you can stand up to the Pokemon and trainers that are there. And if you can't stop the evil team that is running the city government? You are gonna have to toughen up a bit and try again. Fighting gym leaders and the Pokemon League is entirely optional with regards to completing the main quest, etc. Stuff like that.

For added fun, make the happy Rival side with the Villain Team, while the asshole doesn't. The friendly Rival turning evil just 'cause would be pretty lame.

9. Battling the professor.
10. Defending your title as champion. Of course you wouldn't just wait there, but maybe you can get a pokegear-esque or a x-transceiver type of call to alert you when you have a challenger.
11. The phone feature in general.
12. New features of the Pokedex. Evolution methods (after you get them), bring back the trainer-pokemon size comparison, and possibly other cool things.
13. Having siblings. I like the idea of either following a role-model (like your father in RSE / ORAS) or just being a good role model for a younger sibling.
14. Not yet for this gen, but something leading into Pokemon fusion for other gens. Kind of like some teaser build up.
15. Actual flying.
16. More new discoveries to Pokemon as a whole (like professor elm finding out they come from eggs and professor sycamore learning about Mega evos)
17. Some sort of MMO feature, maybe with a join avenue base? Actually talking to players online outside of battles, trading, etc. I guess what I'm getting at is the passerby feature but with actual 3D models walking around.

Instead of difficulty, why not have toggleable rules instead? Like adjusting the Exp. Share to be like the one in Gen IV or previous generations, an option to have Pokemon run away if they are KO'd a number of times, restricting the number of Pokemon in gym / Elite 4 battles to that of your opponents / limiting item usage in these battles?

Also, I want:
- Key items to replace HMs.
- Saddle key items allowing you to ride any appropriate Pokemon.
- Ability to navigate underwater similar to Soaring in ORAS.
- Ice to be SE against Water, and for Bug to be neutral in every way against Fairy.
- Expanded Field Effect battle mechanics, although not to the extent of Pokemon Reborn.
- Different wild Pokemon at different times of day, but with a day / night cycle accelerated to one hour.
- Optional sidequests / gyms.
- A purchased house you can decorate, make into a Secret Base, share with friends, etc.
- Weaker Megas like Beedrill to get further stat boosts to make them more viable.
- Gym Leaders to start using Megas starting at the fifth gym.
- GTS that allows you to further restrict trades to certain IVs, natures, etc.
- Ability to trade more than one Pokemon for a single one, i.e. two dozen Pidgeys for one Reshiram.
- In-game method to expand communication to other players so long-distance trades can be more easily negotiated.

I actually liked the Gen 6 formula better. Just enough new mons to have a couple of varied in-game parties while still having a lot of the old ones to catch them all while playing through the story. I hated having to backpedal at the end or play a bunch of the older games just to catch pokemon.

It would be both an extremely painful annoyance and a completely superfluous change. If you want pokemon to be more difficult, you need to have difficulties that both removes EXP share and increase the mon levels of trainers and gym leaders.

Even then, if there is anything like Lumiose tower you could power a pokemon to level 100 overnight without doing shit. It really is best to just artificially make the game harder (or create a gym setting that IS nuzlocke).

The problems I have with this list are with
7) Quantity decreases quality. I would rather have 40 badass mons than a bunch of shitter random mons
9) There will always be people unsatisfied with the story. As long as it isn't too retarded, I personally don't care (I play for endgame and for gameplay itself)
15) It is easy to play a game's sequel, not like it much, and say 'it must be because the developers put less effort into it.' In some cases that is true, but in many other cases it seems to simply be changing or lack of interest in the game itself. Pokemon has a pretty well defined integral pattern to it, and deviating too much for new ideas ends up giving us shit like mega/primal legendary pokemon.
