Happened to me when I was like 8 in Silver. Fucking hoothoot. I didn't know about shinies though and it was a kind of magical experience.

>want to use a Pokemon not available until post-game
>use cheats to make it spawn where it would in post-game
>illegitimate Pokemon is legitimately shiny
