What is Nintendo's reasoning for not making a Pokemon game

Because the appeal of Pokemon games like Stadium and XD was playing Pokemon in a 3d environment

Now that Pokemon games are fully 3d, there's no point in having a console Pokemon game serving essentially the same function as the handheld games

I believe they said somewhere they think part of the formula for pokemon is the taking it everywhere you go. It's a huge handheld seller too. less sales if it's on console also

The reasoning is that GameFreak is the one making the games and they decide what they should develop them for

In all seriousness, >>26418083 is correct. We actually haven't seen a stadium style game since gen IV. TPCi is currently experimenting with other genres of spin-offs (eg. fighting games, action-adventure) to see what catches on. The main series is likely never moving away from handhelds, unless the rumors about NX turn out of be true.
