Why did GF give such an ugly and dull color scheme to what is otherwise such a cool looking pokemon?

Why didn't they keep the same colors as its previous evolutions?

When blurry images of it pre-BW were released I was expecting a giant mantis dragon thing. The end result was much blander than expected.

Haxorus is not gold at all

its more like a brownish mustard color with a little bit of green in it

its certainly a weird color for a pokemon
just look at it next to other pokemon and it will be obvious
