Something that's interesting to think about for both of them is that the lion and bat both symbolize intuition and both seem to have a "third eye" open up on their foreheads in the trailer, the third eye is also known as the "cosmic eye" or the "intuitive eye" and symbolizes intuition as well as extra sensory perception. Interestingly enough the third eye also symbolizes prophecies so could this give us an idea of what the two of them represent or maybe even what the story could be about?

Another thing I found recently that seems pretty interesting and could maybe be its own theory is something called the "Seven Planes of Cosmic Consciousness", three of those planes being the Spiritual Plane, the Intuitional Plane, and the Mental Plane, and my idea being that the Celestial trio for Sun and Moon could be a representation of those planes of existence, Solgaleo being the Mental Plane due to lions symbolizing wisdom, Lunaala being the Intuitional Plane since bats symbolize intuitive thought, and Marshadow (or whatever the third legendary is) being the Spiritual Plane to maybe represent the human spirit.

Something else I found is that these three planes are associated with three respective elements that could be a part of the Celestial trio's typings, the Mental Planes element being fire which easily coincides with Solgaleo, the Intuitional Planes element being air which coincides with Lunaala, and the Spiritual Planes element being ether, ether being a volatile and highly flammable liquid, which could coincide with the third legendary. This makes it even more obvious that Solgaleo will have Fire in its typing and Lunaala will have Flying, but it's a little difficult to determine for the third legendary, it could be Poison, Fire, or even Water judging by the definition of ether but it could go any way.

And that's about it for my theory really.

I think they're loosely based off the Balinese myth of Barong and Rangda

Solgaleo is a white lion with gold pieces and shiny, mirror-like jewels on his fur, and lions are almost always associated with the sun anyway so that works
