I can imagine Larvitar (and Pupitar) having the Ground type just to give them some strength until they evolve into Tyranitar, but then why do this for a starter?

Prediction time:

Rowlett's 2nd and 3rd evolution will turn his bowtie into a full suit, and he will be the ringmaster, in keeping with the circus theme.

Litten will either become a performance tiger, like ones that jump through hoops, or he'll become a hybrid of circus fire jugglers and the fire dancers that are popular in Polynesian culture and Hula.

Popplio will bulk the fuck up, and become the circus Strongman, being a big beefy tank.

I've been hoping popplio goes in a tumbler/acrobat direction for the circus theme. Clown is the baby stage, but his artwork already shows him bouncing and flipping on the bubble.
