I just love SMD's expressions. The way they took the time to draw the Pokémon expressions, even though they were not protagonists or recurring characters, was just the cherry on top of the cake. In previous games, I would not evolve because I was afraid to lose those expressions because the game would feel very lifeless

A 3DS is all you need on 10.5 and lower.
On 10.6-10.7 you also need a properly set up game (which means you'd need a way to edit its save)
On 11.0 you need to hardmod it, as in taking it apart, connecting it to a fake SD card or something and connect it to your PC.

There are multiple points to the Homebrew Channel, and from them to firmware fuckery, Nintendo has been patching them up.
10.5 and lower have entry points in the theme system and in the internet browser itself. There was also one through Ironfall (a free game), but that used versions that got removed eventually.
10.6-10.7 need Either Cubic Ninja, Ocarina of Time or PSMD, the latter two need a special save that needs to be applied in a 3DS that already has an entry point
11.0 is fucked, for now. Apparently an update of the Cubic Ninja hack is on the works

Do you want the quiz to make a return?

I think the problem with the quiz is that there aren't going to be enough natures for all the starters they want to put in.

There are only 25 natures, so if the quiz comes back for the next game, they'd either have to do it like Super with just the main ones plus Pikachu and Riolu, or they'd have to omit a few past ones to make way for more non-standard starters.

It's fun but I'm always going to ignore what it says and pick who I want in the end. It didn't really bother me at all when they removed it for Gates, but it's a nice touch.

The guide was kind of vague about the best Toolbox setup, so I just kind of did whatever. Kecleon's holding a Tight Belt, while the other two are holding Reviver Seeds. Before you object to anything, I'm already at floor 5.

Tight Belt is only needed for floors 18-19. Xray specs are much better, and give you early warning. You can go without a few Reviver Seeds, and you want a Joy Seed. The earlier you get Screech, the better. Take only 1 oran berry, you'll find more.

I already saw his videos and he's actually better than some of the "professional" reviewers. He also has some good points actually. If you want to see someone stupid enough to get angry because someone else doesn't agree with them on a valid opinion look at the comments of his videos.

Semi-recent, came out in September last year in Japan, November in NA, and February in EU.

There are some subjective things like not liking the new recruitment system or not liking the partner's personality, but then there are some objective problems like certain plot points not getting touched on as much as they should have been.

If you like what Super does, it's great, but I can't guarantee that you will. It's a pretty polarizing game.

Moves have their own EXP bar and level up now.
IQ is removed.
Tutor moves from the main games can now be taught in Super.
Pokémon will now enter a cooldown and become unavailable after frequent usage. The higher the level difference between you and the Pokémon, the faster the lockout happens and the longer it lasts. You and your partner are exempt, and will always be available.
Gold Bars can be found in dungeons and exchanged for various goods like Reviver Seeds and vitamins.

Random missions are gone, and recruitment is tied to preset missions.

I've been taking a look at move caps.
Power caps at 100 pixels, PP at 30, and Accuracy at 98%.

Are you talking about Super? If so, not really. There's a system that causes frequently used Pokémon to go on breaks and become unavailable. Outside of your starter and partner, you're not gonna have the team you want 24/7. If that doesn't bother you then great, but you sound like you want to use your own team.

In Explorers and Rescue Team, the aforementioned system doesn't exist, and you're free to use whatever Pokémon you want. It's gonna take a while for them to get good, though, because of the existence of IQ. It's a stat that you raise by feeding certain items to Pokémon, and they gain invaluable skills. Unfortunately, it takes forever to level up. If you like that sort of thing, though, definitely play Explorers and Rescue Team, because you won't find that in Super.

There are about five level 5 dungeons, and five more accessible from the Meowth Theatre.
There's a Sacred Ruins guide in the OP, and the general strategies for level 1 dungeons in RT/Explorers can be applied here as well. Serebii's pages on them list some of the Pokémon that can appear, but they're incomplete and don't cover the Theatre.

And I just watched two other videos and it was just a coincidence. The other emulator videos both had a Turtwig and Skitty combo. So I guess there's just a certain combination loaded onto each cart, and the emulation thing is just the result of using the same ROM.

I read in this general some time ago that it can also be based on the MAC address, at least sometimes. On an emulator the colour setting is like that by default, you'd need to change it manually.
