As for where the games would be set, if it's not Hawaii, I do think another European setting would make sense. There can be a lot of variety compared to Kalos still, and Italy in particular has enough biomes and landmarks to easily be made into a hodge-podge Pokémon region without too much trouble.

-like I said before, the starters aren't going to be Grass-Fire-Water trio, but they will gain those types when evolving.
