S'up /vp/. I'm thinking about doing a run through Soul Silver. Would limiting my team to three Pokemon help with the level curve?
I'm thinking of running just Feraligatr, Crobat, and Ampharos for the whole thing, plus HM slaves.

Just did a dual run through of gold and silver (one gameboy each hand) and I used three per team. You end up slightly overlevelled for most of the game. Don't know how HGSS is.

Mareep just flat out won't spawn before beating Falkner, from what i've experienced. I catch one every game, and it's shit that i can't get it for that gym.
