But that is right, technically. The amount of time you can play is fixed, so if you avoid the safari you would have more encounters outside the safari zone. Therefore, higher chance that any shiny you encounter would be in a place easier to catch.

OK there's no point continuing this conversation until you understand probability. Yes the shiny encounter rate is the same, but if you're less likely to catch Pokemon in the safari zone, that makes the probability of you catching a shiny in your game less likely. That's just a fact.
