This happens with every fighting game, OP. People hype it up when it first comes out but shortly afterward the casuals leave and only the more "hardcore" players remain.

Typical pre-release hype cycle. You have tons of discussion about a popular upcoming game months before it's out, but then it's released and everyone just stops talking a few weeks later. Happened with FE Fates recently too.

I played it multiple times a day after I got it, but then all of a sudden I stopped. I don't really have any interest in returning to it; I finished the single-player mode, my husband too bad at it for local to be fun, and online play felt too repetitive. I don't know. I guess I just got tired of it fast.
