Between GSC and HGSS, which one of them is the most challenging?

GSC because the batteries have run dry so you have to complete it in one sitting.

Playing through HG right now and it's relatively easier than GSC imo since pokemon like Azumarill and Scizor gained buffs with the addition of abilities, not to mention a few Johto mons didn't get evolutions until gen 4. To add to that, some pokemon couldn't take advantage of their stats prior to the Phys/Spec split.
