So as someone who played only up to Gen 2 in IRL and Pokemon TCG for gameboy many years ago, how would I fare with my middling experience in Magic and Hearthstone going into Pokemon TCG Online?

The only EX mon I always see as trouble, regardless of what deck I'm playing, Is mewtwo. In all its forms and varieties.
Everything else is meh unless I'm getting fucked by weaknesses or effects or something.
I go "oh fuck there's no way I win this" more often when facing regular pokemon with weird effects or BREAK pokemon than EXes.

Anyone here ever experimented with Unlimited format broken as hell decks? most of the good ones win on the first turn or keep the other guy from winning on the first turn.
I'm most familiar with the Blastoise variants, but there's also stuff based around Crobat PHF and some mill decks and of course Shiftry is a thing.

I'm building the Blastoise/Espeon/Foretress unlimited deck because it's a fun solitare deck.( autistic, I know.) I need like 4 more cards to complete it. I think I'm missing a Junk Arm and 2 Erika... then I should be good.

I don't really mind spending on some of the pricey-ish cards in the deck since I'm a collector anyways. the only really expensive thing was the Espeon foil, which runs around 25-30 bucks (I double sleeved the thing so it doesnt get ruined)

Was checking some cards of mine and I noticed that I have one with a flipped back.
When the pokeball in the back is straight (red part of pokeball up), the pokemon on the front is flipped upside down.

Is this a common error? Is this considered a misprint? Will this card make me a millionaire?

Not even close. Your typical deck skeleton is something like this:

>0-5 Stadiums
>16-20 Items

>0-8 Basic Energy
>0-4 Special Energy

You build your deck around a specific Pokemon you want to attack with or has a gimmick you want to abuse. You don't build around a generic type.

Hey, new player here. Can someone explain to me the nuances between using wally or using evosoda? As I understand it, Wally always works, and evosoda cant work if you have already evolved this turn. How does that interact with evolving from the hand? Can I Evosoda and then place the stage 2 on top of that pokemon?

There's only one difference in the wording of the two cards.

Wally says: You can use this card during your first turn or on a Pokemon that was put into play this turn.

This means you can evolve a Pokemon and then use Wally, since that Pokemon that you evolved into was just put into play. You can't Wally and then evolve from hand, however, since Wally still counts as an evolution.

Evosoda reads: You can't use this card during your first turn or on a Pokemon that was put into play this turn.

So it's literally just a trainer version of Professor Elm's Training Method from older sets, except you lose out on any abilities that come into play when evolving, since it automatically evolves things from your deck, rather than your hand, which is common wording with abilities.
