A portuguese man-o-war has cells of different functions--floaters, stingers.

Dugtrio heads all perform similar shit.
Weezing heads all spew gas.
Magneton's three Magnemite all do the same shit--only Magnezone could be considered as a colony with its two smaller heads having different functions over the bigger one.
Exeggcutor heads and Dodrio heads may have different emotions but that's it.

Barbaracle on the other hand (pun may be intended) have Binacles of different functions performing as one organism--the head, arms and feet.

Its concept is way more interesting than most of the Gen 1 "more heads" and this is coming from a Magneton/Magnezone line
