There honestly isn't any real reason for Steel, although this is the first time I've heard of it being like a bear trap and that's a neat explanation.

It doesn't bother me too much, because there have been plenty of Pokemon with the typing just tacked on.

Why is Torkoal a Fire-type? Because it's a flame tortoise.

The standard is Play Rough and Iron Head for Stab, Sucker Punch for priority (because she's SLOW) and a 4th utility move.

Saw Batom Pass, Sword Dance and even Substitute, but honestly, there's nothing wrong going "caveman" and just using four attacks to make the most out of her attack.
The main problem with that is that you would need a lot of prediction to when and what is your opponent is going to swap in, because she's so slow, and even with full HP EV she suffers to take some super-effective hits.

Can we all have a huge round table discussion of what it is, how its shaped, how to draw it, because very little artists even know how.

It seems like some pac-man style face from the side. But in the front it has a beak like look.

Artists have made cool styles of it. I've yet to see an artist be a huge fan of mawile. The rest of mawile is simple to draw. No fingers or hands, just like Gardevoir's fingers? Three spread out stubs but all the same length.

Legs are literrally an aikikai (pleated pants, karate wear or Bleach pants for the autistic). Horseshoe like feet.

I know I'm supposed to have Sucker Punch but the actual expectation of Sucker Punch is a better weapon than the real thing in my opinion.

Talking about a 1v1 here? Mega Sableye is even slower than Mawile, so will get one shotted by Play Rough. If you have speed IVs and manage to pull it off, still will do most of your health to the point anything can kill you at that point.
You'd have to go without megaing on the first form to pull it off, you can still tank the Play Rough even without it, but again, you'll be at very low health.

Setup changes everything as usual, but discussing infinity possibilities is boring.

Both are great pokémons tho, I like both. It's just a hard matchup unless it's on a real battle and Sableye had some turns to setup.
