Honestly before Serena I thought Dawn's bond with Ash was the closest we'd ever get to a girl with a thing for Ash again. Something that had no real canon evidence but if you stretch it you could see something.

May/Drew hands down. The main advantage is that it was as mutual as you'll get in the anime with May spilling spaghetti almost every time as well as Drew from time to time.
