>going to catch Articuno in Pokémon Red
>bring 35 Poké Balls and save before engaging in battle
>end up using all 35
>not a single one of them even hit the fucker
>"The Poké Ball missed!"
Holy shit this is insane. Why does Red have such shit aim?

>Using Pokeballs on Articuno
Come on Anon get some less shit balls.
Stay mad Kalos-babby!
You're just pressed the difficulty back then was actually legit and not handed to you on a silver platter!
>>25807606
Why the fuck would you use Pokeballs? Does the game even store information on which ball was used to catch it? I figured there'd be some kind of special ball to mark Gen 1 Pokemon when they were transferred to PokeBank (or that they'd all just be PokeBalls).
Why are you so smug?
>>25807677
No, Ultra Balls are for sweaty nerds.
>>25807686
>Kalos baby
Nigger I've been playing since Red and Blue. And it's not like catching Articuno in a Poke Ball is a cakewalk now anyway, I just forgot about this added level.
Just caught it by the way. Fuck you namefag.
>>25807686
Not OP, but even back when Red and Blue were new, Pokéballs missing was a stupid mechanic. Pokemon breaking out was fine, but the ball completely missing was more infuriating.
>>25807704
Balltism is a horrifying disease of OCD, Anon.
>>25807733
Smug how?
>>25807704
Eh, I don't really know, that's just how I always do things. There's no telling what the RBY > SM transfer entails.
I catch my Legendary Pokémon in Premier Balls, but there aren't any in this game, so I went with the next best thing.
>people actually believe pokeball accuracy is a real thing
>>25807769
Yeah, but really does RBY store ball information? They all obviously look the same in the game. What happened when pokes were transferred from RBY to GSC? I was kinda wondering all this when I wanted a Chansey but did the glitch instead (thus catching it in a Great Ball instead of a Safari Ball). Would that information go to PokeBank? Is there any way to tell at this point?
>>25807749
But anon, on a technical level the pokeball missing in gen 1 and the pokeball shaking once in later gens are the exact same thing.
>>25807606
Pokeball missing is the Gen 1 equivalent to 1 shake in later gens.
miss = 1 shake
1shake = 2 shakes
there is no 2 shake in Gen 1-2
3 shakes = capture
