Lol here we fucking go. First off, no one ever assumed HGSS was gen 5 whatsoever. Second, take a look at Black and White. You would assume it would be gen 4 due to the similar graphics right? Well it wasn't gen 4. It was gen 5 because of the new Pokemon, new mechanics, features, region and everything else that was INCOMPATIBLE with the previous fucking gens. Sun and Moon can just have the same engine as XY and it'd still be gen 7 with new Pokemon and shit. If Sun and Moon are completely compatible with XY or ORAS, then pat yourself on the back, although that would be kind of hard to do since we've already seen TWO new Pokemon that's absolutely 100% not compatible with gen 6!
