Gen 6.5 fags are just retarded autists. They'd think it's a new gen if it was set in Kalos, looked exactly the same as X and Y and had no new Pokemon but had one tiny battle mechanic that caused the games to be incompatible with XY and ORAS.

I would rather gamefreak revisit previous pokemon and work on making them competitively viable.

I want more stuff like Evolite, maybe an Evolite for baby-mons that triples attack and speed or something.

I never even liked Johto, which is why it should be patched up.

Besides the region is the least of my concerns, it's the Pokemon themselves.

I'm more concerned with competitive play.

I want to see a day where Smogon becomes obsolete because the mechanics become internally balanced. (at least, more balanced than they currently are)

And based on the concept art we saw in the teaser trailer. The region is going to have a mix of pokemon from gens 1-6 and have landmarks that pay homage to all pokemon from gens 1-6. So if Sun and Moon is gen 7, it's still going to be like X and Y with only a handful of new Pokemon and have the rest be from past generations.

Well that doesn't mean an awful lot. Unova is geographically to the north of Kalos, you must have seen the picture with the 2 maps slotted together and the rivers, mountain range, trees and even the clouds match up seamlessly, but without an in game link like a train or something where you can visit Unova it's nothing more than a need little Easter egg game freak made for fans to discover. Had they made an xy2 or z they might have been planning a trip to the pet or something post game but now we'll never know.

Part of the UK (the channel islands) was part of Kalos so that might mean something but generally there is nothing canonical to suggest that regions are always placed in the same way they are in our world.

The pentagon is there to determine if the Pokemon is from the 3DS Pokemon games, not gen VI specifically. We could easily have a gen II situation where the pre-gen VII Pokemon from S/M are tradeable/pokebank transferable to XY and ORAS and the last 2 pentagon slots are just to determine that.

I think you need to understand the difference between "Smogon" and "the ruleset most people on Smogon play by". Smogon is just a website dedicated to competitive Pokemon, where frequent players have developed a ruleset to make the game as interesting as possible with the imbalance of the battle system. No one says you have to play by their rules, you can play the shitfest known as VGC if you really want.

"Dissolving" Smogon doesn't make any sense, it's just a place to discuss high-level Pokemon. I'm sure if Gamefreak found a way to balance/overhaul the game like you're suggesting they would discuss that instead.
