Why is Umbreon so popular on DeviantArt? It's kinda

It's the "Edgy" dark Pokemon. Houndoom is better.

It has a design based around sleekness rather than cuteness or goofyness, so furries cream themselves over it, like they do with Lucario.

Exactly this. A friend of mine is a massive furfag, and simply recolored Umbreon to be Light grey with blue rings. same with Lucario.

It's a black dog thing with blood red eyes and glowy special snowflake bits that's related to the night/darkness. Of course they love it.
