onix is in no way at all an earthworm.

elephants are cantankerous beasts with tough hides known to quickly charge down and ram things than annoy them, like donphan.

earthworms are soft bodied blind grubs that eat rotting plant matter. like onix? i guess?

Never has there ever been any mention of them being angry or violent in the games.
Even then it wouldn't be the first time somebody made up an aggressive gigantic worm, just look at other creatures like the mongolian death worm and the worms in Dune.
There aren't any snakes that act remotely like Onix. Literally all snakes are carnivores and few even makes their own burrows, none make tunnels. I'm not saying it doesn't have snake elements, the face is clearly reptilian, but it's behavior is undoubtedly inspired by earthworms.

it doesn't have any of of the defining features of an stegosaur, like the sails, tail spikes or even remotely similar body structure
>>
>>25671599
>>25671604

Look at Torterta's body, specifically the gait and head. It's very primitive

Gamefreak drew inspiration from the stegosaurus

Unless you are the professional artist who was paid to draw Torterta, then we have no guess who is right and wrong. There are really only 3 popular dinosaurs that everyone knows: T-Rex, Tricerotops, and Stegosauros. Do you really think the artist was also an archeologist who knew what an Anklyosaurus was? Nah son. He probably said, "I want a dinosaur..I like that one with the round back." And he drew that one for Torterta

Like I said, this is just our hypothesi. We have no clues to what the artist meant. The best we can do is form guesses

Fluid isn't the important word, prey is. Prey refers to animals, you don't use that word about plants.
>>
>>25671794
Fair point. I feel like "prey" implies something more animate than a plant, though. You never hear about herbivores "preying" in plants, but that doesn't make it inaccurate.
>>
>>25671822
You think Sap is water huh? When the tree secrets fluids, it's secreting honey from the insects nested inside. That's also where maple syrup comes from

>>
>>25671849
Do you think the water magically swims around? Chop a tree and no water comes out. The water is absorbed into the cellulose, pulp, bark, and stamen. The tree itself is dry and has no water. The Sap is the honey which is the syrup which isn't produced by the tree itself, it's just an off product of nature

holy shit are you retarded, it evolved from turtles into something based on the World Turtle, if anything it's not even a dinosaur it's just a giant fucking turtle. It still has a shell and it doesn't have a club tail but it definitely has an ankylosaur head and it absolutely does not have a row of back plates nor spikes on its tail. The mountains on its back aren't plate shaped, they're giant spiky mountains and that just completes the world turtle image and supplements its new Ground typing. Gamefreak doesn't just think of a random dinosaur when they need one, they didn't even do a T-Rex until their fifth batch of fossils so your argument is retarded, there is no Stegosaurus Pokémon and you're not even trying to be right anymore you're literally just floundering for an excuse not to be wrong

"Sap is a fluid transported in xylem cells (vessel elements) or phloem sieve tube elements of a plant. These cells transport water and nutrients throughout the plant.

Sap is not to be confused with latex, resin or cell sap; it is a separate substance, separately produced, and with different components and functions."

from wikipedia. sap is not produced by insects, or anything other than the tree itself. trees store water, when you chop a tree down water wont come gushing out of it because its not ALL there ALL at once, trees arent THAT full of water

>High HP and great Special Bulk with workable special attack that can be boosted with Calm Mind

>Not slow as shit but middling speed

I'd take it. Could gave some good utility, especially since it can't get burned. Its resists aren't spectacularly useful, and its weaknesses although few are common and powerful. Regardless, Thick Fat would make Fire hit for less-than-neutral and if it had access to reliable recovery (maybe Slack Off) it'd be able to hold its own in the right situation. Not gonna be the next Heatran or Rotom-W but oughta be fun to use. Maybe its moveset can be peppered with a ton of gimmick and status moves for shenanigans' sake.

This is gonna sound stupid as hell but I want a Doubles gimmickmon based on a traffic light or traffic guard. Maybe Electric/Fairy, or something. But give it the following signature moves, all of which have +1 priority:

>Red Light: Prevents the target from attacking that turn. May fail if used in succession.
>Yellow Light: Forces the target to go last that turn. May fail if used in succession.
>Green Light: Forces the target to go immediately after the user. May fail if used in succession.

Obviously its stats wouldn't be pretty good, but like Sableye it'd be just bulky enough to be at least a LITTLE survivable while doing its thing. Its abilities would be Motor Drive and Soundproof, with the HA Oblivious.

Gets lots of light-based moves, like Signal Beam, Flash, Dazzling Gleam, and Mirror Shot. Also gets Tri-Attack because three lights. Maybe just for funsies it gets Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, and Energy Ball because of red, yellow, and green light.

Other moves: Volt Switch, Discharge, Confuse Ray, Me First, Rapid Spin, Safeguard, Simple Beam, etc.

>>

Pokemon is Japanese, dumbfuck. There's no way a clever English name will inspire the making of a Pokemon.
>>
>>25678541
