Also I'm only using Pikachu and the starters on my first run because I'm mimicking how I played as a kid as best I can. Next run through I'll for sure box Pikachu because he's shit, and I'll pick up other Poke's instead of the starters

I'm pretty certain I didn't even know about catching Mankey on that side route when I was a kid, which was a shame since I loved Primape in the anime. I'm pretty certain Butterfree was my go to for a while, until Dugtrio came along.

I was wondering which ver. of the Gen 1 games should I play Red/Blue or Yellow?

I've heard Platinum is one of the harder games so I want to do my first Nuzlocke on it. What starter should I choose?

Yellow has the better sprites and some gym/elite 4 differences. I say go for that unless you want some pokemon only available in red/blue.

Playing Red. Just beat Koga, grinding for Giovanni and Sabrina. I don't know the levels of their Pokémon but I'm guessing Lv.45 on all my team members will be enough to rek them.

Goldeen and Growlithe aren't permanent team members. Goldeen is just there for Surf until I can get a Shellder and Growlithe I just caught before taking this picture.

I barely use Mew, I only have him because as the barely not underage faggot I am, I never had the chance to play Pokémon Red and thus never did the Glitch Because I fucking was one year old in 1998

As for Beedrill, I never use bug types so I thought I would give him a shot. I originally caught a Weedle for the Pokédex but it turned out to be pretty good in battle, so far it's my main mon. Also Mega Beedrill when we can transfer them to Sun/Moon.

ok, finally beat the e4 and caught mewtwo, need to farm certain pokemon so I can try and trade for exclusives I don't have with friends, as well as start raising some other pokemon for battles.

honestly I just didn't enjoy playing through gen 1. I can, and always will appreciate the fuck out of what it did for the series and the fact I did grew up with gen 1 through the anime and stuff, but the game itself really just isn't up to snuff. If the transfer to Sun/Moon was not one of the selling points I probably would have stopped playing this by now.

Gen 1 catch mechanics are weird. Pokeball effectiveness actually tops out at 30% hp in rby. So you don't really need a false swipe type move. I use a butterfree with gust confusion and sleep powder as a catcher
