From my lands, there is a tale of a scholar. He’s regarded not only as one of the greatest of his time, but he remains unrivaled to today in his contributions. He would study and work on his materials 24/7 and did not sleep. He would work through the night until his body would give out and he would go unconscious, and he would do this everyday of his life as he was incredibly dedicated.

Unsurprisingly, he passed at a fairly young age, around his 40s, but the level of his work was phenomenal and I feel it demonstrates that a lack of sleep doesn’t necessarily mean your knowledge will deteriorate. Additionally, the scholar was known for having an unbelievable memory, and had memorized several books worth of content in their entirety. He was like a walking 10 volume encyclopedia.
