Suppose 4chan did actually die. What would happen? Would it affect the rest of the internet?
i will die with it

The diaspora would be worse than the syrian migrant crisis
I wish there was a way of undoing Internet segregation and forcing people to deal with people with different perspectives, desu. 4chan and Tumblr are tumours on the Internet which reinforce their community's delusions.

Thing is, the way we post here wouldn't be possible anywhere else.

>What would happen?
Hiroshima-kun would be regarded as the man who killed both 2ch and 4chan. Moot would feel sad that his creation died and reminisce, while crying into his $100 google dollars.
Thousands of /r9k/ posters would succumb to their crippling depression and hang themselves.
4chan users would migrate to the Next Big Website, Reddit.
>Would it affect the rest of the internet?
Sure. Smaller chans would get a bump in activity as people look for alternatives.
I'd assume at least one "alt-right" board would pop up because nobody wants blatant neo-nazis anymore. Not even Stormfront.
The archive sites could, finally, serve an actual purpose too.

I would sooner go back to fucking livejournal communities than use a poorly-designed website like Reddit or Tumblr
>>21074
Reddit would need to double their gold quota to handle the increased traffic

>What would happen?
Someone would pay a lot for that 4chan url and then put up some ads or something.
