Gone are those days. I couldn't go to them back when I really loved video games because they usually landed on school days, and there's no reason to do it now when you mainly game on PC and get everything digitally. That, and your fervent love for games has simmered down to the occasional hour or two of entertaining escapism every other day or so.

I've been to two
First was halo 4 release a friend dragged me and another friend to. It was pretty chill and we had some comfy bantz with some other people in line. It was right next to my work so I even ran into a few coworkers and chatted a bit.
The other was for Dragon Age Inquisition. It was cold as FUCK so I dressed in 3 layers and looked homeless but I didn't give a single fuck. And I was standing right next to some 300 pound neck beard who wouldn't stop trying to awkwardly chat up the girl who was working the door at gamestop.

I never had a good experience with midnight launches. They always happened when the weather was getting cold, and I lived in a town full of Mexicans.

I once saw a mother and her two children get a Halo 2 Edition Xbox stolen from out of their hands

The only thing I ever camped out for was the Wii. I was so disappointed that I never did it again.

This reminds me a bit of what video games are like for me. I tend to have more fun modifying my interface, installing mods, writing simulators etc. or simply theorcrafting a game than I do actually playing it.
